Heather Caudle

Chief Nursing Officer, Member - Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS FT, Shuri Network

Heather Caudle joined the Trust in August 2019. She has worked for over 23 years as a registered nurse, systemic psychotherapist and strategic leader in mental health as well as acute health. Early in her career she specialised in eating disorders nurse therapy.

Her previous roles include the Executive Chief Nurse of Ashford and St. Peter’s NHS Foundation Trust, as well as her role at a national level as the Director of Nursing for Improvement in NHS England where she directed national nursing and midwifery strategic planning and delivery within Maternity, SEND Programme, Safeguarding, Continuing Health Care, Community Nursing, and Urgent & Emergency Care.

Heather recently led a transformation project across the NHS England / NHS Improvement London region to improve patient experience and outcomes across the interface between mental health and acute hospitals, where she then became the clinical lead in the implementation of the London Mental Health Compact, and soon after took up role as the Director of Nursing – Leadership and Quality, NHS England and NHS Improvement – London.

Qualifications: Dip RN 1995; MSc Syst Psych 2002.

Heather obtained her Registered Nursing higher education qualification at the University of North London, in partnership with the North London Joint College of Health Studies. She received her Masters of Science degree in Family, Couple and Systemic Psychotherapy at the Institute of Family Therapy and Birkbeck, University College London.
